About Our Area
The Jewel of Southeast Charlotte
The CrownPoint development area is a 220-acre mixed-use business center featuring approximately 35 acres for custom buildings well-suited to light industrial, warehouse, & office use. Originally developed by the Levine Family beginning in 1995 on the edge of Matthews, CrownPoint has grown into a mature business community that’s more accessible to the small business owners whose establishments comprise the business park and adjacent areas.
Plenty far away from the most congested parts of I-485 approaching the Ballantyne area and I-77, our owners and tenants enjoy an easy commute. Yet we are very close to several main thoroughfares, including less than ½ mile from Independence Blvd and only 2 miles to I-485. Our location enables us to conduct business with Uptown and the other business centers in Charlotte with ease.
CrownPoint Business Park has a Property Owners Association (POA) comprised of 60 building owners housing businesses ranging from restaurants and a dental office to marketing services, technology, and light manufacturing. The POA is professionally managed by MPV Properties of Charlotte who, along with an active Board of Directors elected from the ranks of our owners, meets quarterly to review the budget and any topics that need action to maintain the quality of our community. Recent projects include a massive tree replanting and updates to our monument signs. The POA’s annual budget exceeds $100,000 and maintains a healthy $70,000+ in reserve. Due to our strong financial footing, member dues, already inexpensive, have held steady or declined since 2010.
Several features make CrownPoint an attractive location for business. First, parking is never an issue due to private on-premises lots and ample street parking if needed. Professionally landscaped common areas and several natural treescapes add to the feeling of space. You won’t believe the cherry blossoms in the spring! The security of our community is notable, thanks in large part to our contracted surveillance provided by a private mobile patrol company. This is one reason for the low incidence of crime in our community. Another exceptional feature is our trailhead leading to McAlpine Creek Park, with 114 acres that includes a 3-acre lake with fishing pier, a 2-mile bike trail, and a 1.5-mile nature/jogging trail.
Compare CrownPoint and all its amenities with other corporate parks in Charlotte and see for yourself the incredible value we offer in terms of lower member dues, lower property taxes, and proximity to Charlotte’s residential and business communities.
